tradedoubler-logo.gifTradeDoubler have announced the addition of the Bwin program to their portfolio.

The Irish offices of TradeDoubler seem to be attracting a lot of new programs for Irish affiliates, so this is a very positive move.
I posted on my personal blog a couple of days ago about the new Screenclick site.

One of Screenclick's affiliates also posted on his blog about the site redesign and has now found that his account has been suspended!

Is this how most companies handle feedback from their affiliates???

Microsoft has announced the closure of its affiliate network.

In an email to publishers last week the company thanked them for their participation and talked of a new range of products being launched on a new platform in 2009

Amazon Top Sellers RSS

|
amazon_aws.gifAmazon, in common with a lot of big ecommerce site, makes use of RSS for a number of things including lists of top sellers. In case you didn't spot the post over on their official affiliate blog, you can easily generate RSS for any category AND add your affiliate ID.

The RSS feed includes the title of the item and very little else (there might be "thicker" versions available if you go digging, but I haven't found them yet), so it would be quite easy to grab a feed and integrate it with pretty much any sort of site you want. Adding some basic styling etc., and you've got a nice little top list.

iwoot_logo.gifIt's not everyday that a merchant announces a significant increase in their payout levels, however IWOOT's latest announcement does just that.

In what could best be described as a bold move the UK gadget shop emailed their affiliates earlier today to announce that they intended to take on their competition headon by increasing commissions across the board to an impressive 13% flat rate. Amazon, which was one of the first companies to offer an affiliate solution, for example, offers a flat rate of 4% or scaling commission system with an upper limit of 8.5%.

The new commission structure comes into play on April 1st.

Ebay have announced that they are taking their affiliate marketing inhouse.

To date the online auction giant had been using Commission Junction and ValueClick to handle their affiliate partner network.

According to the announcement the new network, which is aptly labelled the eBay Partner Network, will go live on April 1st. While the choice of date may lead to some sniggers, the announcement sounds promising:

While CJ and ValueClick have been valuable partners to eBay throughout the years, we've decided to give our affiliate community a customized experience for eBay affiliates.

All the great tools and benefits of working with the eBay program will remain the same - access to the Editor Kit and affiliate API, the flexible destination tool, the great payout structure. In addition, the eBay partner network will provide several new features:
• Easy global registration to multiple countries simultaneously
• New, targeted banners and rich media creatives
• New landing page optimization and geo-targeting capabilities
• More detailed reporting capabilities for eBay's programs

The eBay Partner Network and Commission Junction will run in parallel for one month through this process, so please plan to complete your migration by May 1st, 2008.

You can receive an additional 5% bonus for all traffic tracked through eBay Partner Network in April 2008 (bonus applicable to traffic sent to Half.com and US, UK, Australia, Canada, Italy, India and Spain eBay sites). The sooner you migrate, the more you'll earn! Just:
• Register with eBay Partner Network on April 1, 2008
• Confirm your registration, and obtain your new identifiers
• Update your links with your new identifiers.

Unfortunately there is no affiliate network or plans to have one to cater for eBay Ireland users.

Post Christmas Sales and Cleanup

|
Have you been actively managing your affiliate links?

If you haven't now would be a good time to do some spring cleaning, as many of the online vendors have finished their pre-Christmas marketing and are now focussed on the January sales.

While a lot of advertisers use automatically updated banners and other content not all of them do, so it pays to spend a few minutes manually checking what is actually being displayed.

There's no point promoting a special offer if the offer has expired!

Amazon Payments Being Processed

|
It's that time of the month again!

Amazon US affiliates are currently being paid, so the others will probably payout within the next couple of days.
