No matter what motivates you to run your website when you put advertising on it you want to make money. You may not want to make huge amounts of money - it may simply be a case of making enough to cover your costs ie. hosting, domain registration fees etc.,

So what about actually getting paid?

For a lot of adsense publishers payments are now easily done via a wire transfer into their bank accounts. Unfortunately this isn't an option for everyone and cheque payments are still en vogue.

The official adsense blog has a short, but important, article about payments which caught my eye.

It transpires that not every bank in the world will be able to handle your payments! That has got to hurt!
The other thing, which might be obvious to many, is that the cheques are for lodgment only ie. you cannot simply cash them. You need to deposit them on your bank account and wait for them to clear.
